Winnie Mae (Ammons) Skipper

Winnie Mae Skipper (Ammons), 56, passed away December 23, 2004, at Sentara Rosemont Nursing Facility from complications due to diabetes. She was the daughter of the late Wylie and Marie Ammons and wife of the late Leon Skipper. She was predeceased by a brother, Wylie Stewart Ammons, Jr. She was retired from Langley & McDonald and was also a previous employee of Beverly Enterprises. She is survived by her daughter, Wynona-Nichole Tillinghast and husband Baron of Sicily, Italy and their children Keegan, Bailey, Jacob, and Clarenza; her son, Wyland Michael Skipper and wife Staci of Virginia Beach, Virginia and their son Christopher; four brothers; William C. Ammons and his wife Mary of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Wallace G. Ammons and his wife Melinda of Valliant, Oklahoma, Leroy Ammons and his wife Kathy of Dearborn Heights, Michigan and Carol Jean Ammons and wife Carolyn of Atlanta, Texas, three sisters; Wilma A. Ammons of Chesapeake, Virginia, Wanda Frain and husband Ralph of Stonewall, Louisiana; and Marjell Manley and husband Dee of Atlanta, Texas. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Grand Affairs 2036 E. Pleasure House Road in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Tidewater Chapter 420 N. Center Dr. Suite 232, Norfolk, VA. 23502.
