Andy O'Bannon

     Funeral services for Andy O'Bannon of Lukfata, Okla., were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2004, at First United Methodist Church - Valliant with Rev. Troy Ruffin officiating.
     Mr. O'Bannon died August 5, 2004, in Lukfata, Okla. He was 40. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the NRA.
     Andy was born April 7, 1964 in Hugo, Okla., and had lived all of his life in McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents Billy Ray O'Bannon and Patricia Ann (Miller) Rudisill, his maternal grandfather, Waldo "Dodie" Miller, and his paternal grandparents, Will and Ruth O'Bannon. Andy was an employee at Weyerhaeuser in Valliant for 18 years. 
     Andy O', as most kids loved to call him, loved his family dearly. He invited all friends to become a part of his close family. Some of the many things that he enjoyed were "Elvis," his country, Mountain Fork River, babies, hunting and fishing with his boy, country and rock music, reading the newspaper, collecting caps and hats, writing poems and songs, puppies, and above all, his kids, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents... all of his family. He was a man with a love for his family which could be no stronger.
     Survivors: His ex-wife, Faith; one son, Andrew O'Bannon of Tulsa; one daughter, Amber Lane of Tulsa; his maternal grandmother, Hazel "Dee" Pickett of Valliant; three sisters, Pam O'Bannon of Broken Bow, Bobbi Jo Emerson of Harlingen, Texas, and Virginia Carter of Valliant; two brothers, Rex O'Bannon and his wife, Tammy of Valliant, and Jeff O'Bannon and his wife, Jennifer, of Broken Bow, along with many other relatives and friends.
     Services under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home - Valliant, Okla.
