Mrs. Lucy Evett Dies Early Today
Services Held At Home on “C” Street
The Hugo Daily News September 27, 1939 – transcribed by Ron Henson
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Evett, 68 years old, were scheduled to be held at the home on South “C” street at 1 p.m. today with the Rev. W.E. White, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Mrs. Evett died at her home early this morning.
Burial was to be in Springs Chapel cemetery under the direction of the Snow Funeral home.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alice Clouse and Mrs. C.W. Montgomery, both of Hugo; and two sons, T. Bumpas, of Roff, Oklahoma, and Lawrence Evett, of Hugo.
Bearers are: Dean Weaver, Henry Redwine, Clyde Redwine, J.W. Redwine, Henry LaRue and Marvin Cummings.
