Heroism of Wife Fails to Save Life Of County Farmer
G.H. Graham Dies Of Heart Stroke As Home Burns

Heroic efforts of his wife in dragging his body from a burning building failed to save the life of George H. Graham early this moring at their farm home three miles southeast of Hugo. Graham died of a heart stroke while removing furniture from the flaming house. His wife, Mrs. Annie Lee Graham, suffered painful burns about the arms and legs.
The fire completely destroyed the house, barn, chicken houses and coops and smokehouse, including the contents. The origin has not yet been determined.

Graham Services Conducted Thursday

Funeral services for G.H. Graham were conducted in the First Baptist Church Thursday afternoon by the Rev. W.E. White, pastor, assisted by the Rev. W.C. Mathes, pastor of the Wesley Methodist church.
Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery under the direction of the Coffey-Baker funeral home.
Graham died as the result of a heart attack while removing furniture from his burning farm home Tuesday night. He had been a resident of Choctaw county since 1916 and was a member of the First Baptist church.
Pall bearers were: Jesse Gooding, T.A. Favre, J.D. Calendar, Roy Satterfield, Pierce McWaters and Bill Kizer.
