Aged Sawyer Man Dies Early Today
The Hugo Daily News October 3, 1939 – transcribed by Ron Henson

     A.J. Sweeper, 88 year old Sawyer resident died at his home early today following a lingering illness attributed to his advanced age.

     Funeral services will be held at the Sawyer school [unreadable] some [unreadable] Wednesday and burial will be in the Sawyer cemetery.

     The Snow Funeral home, in charge of arrangements, were waiting for relatives to arrive this afternoon before an announcement could be made of the exact time for the services.
