Small Girl Dies After Log Hits Her
The Hugo Daily News September 12, 1939 – transcribed by Ron Henson

An injury received Sunday when a log fell on her head proved fatal Monday night to four year old Shirley Ann Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Watson of Goodwater. The small girl died at 10:30 p.m. in the Hugo hospital where she was brought for treatment.

Funeral services will be held in the Philadelphia cemetery near Idabel at 2 p.m. Wednesday under the direction of the Coffey-Baker funeral home.
