Bessie Faye Davidson

    Funeral services for Bessie Faye Davidson of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Dyer and Rev. Berquris Thompson officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

    Mrs. Davidson died April 15, 2005, in Hugo. She was 70.Bessie was born on August 3, 1934 in Palestine, Ark., to Otto and Ola Mae (Alexander) Wooten. She married Roy D. Davidson in El Cajon, Calif., on June 3, 1966. Bessie moved here from Lakeside, Calif., and has lived in Hugo for the past 24 years. She was a homemaker. Bessie loved her family and her Lord. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. Bessie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by parents, two sisters, and one brother.

    Bessie is survived by her husband, Roy D. Davidson of the home; six daughters, Brenda Williamson, Wanda Ward, Peggy McDaniel all of Hugo, Jenny Hoyt of Grant, Patty Coryell of Virginia Beach, Va., and Julie Shanks of Morgan Hill, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

    The family received friends Sunday, April 17, 2005, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home chapel in Hugo.
