Bill McDaniel

     Funeral services for Bill McDaniel of Wright City were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at Spirit Rock Church in Millerton with Bro. Troy Ruffin officiating. Interment was in Slater Cemetery in Wright City. Pallbearers were Brett Perrin, Charlie Delozier, Jess Taylor, Jerry Womack, P. Jake Womack, Pat Strayhorn; Honorary Pallbearers were Dan Herndon, Mike Rice, Tony Womack, Brent Coffey and James Haddock.
     Mr. McDaniel died August 14, 2004, in Broken Bow. He was 86. He was a member of Spirit Rock Church in Millerton.
     Mr. McDaniel was born March 17, 1918 in Polk County, Arkansas, the son of James Burton McDaniel and Vertie (Williams) McDaniel and had lived for 28 years in the Wright City area. He married Elga Elizabeth "Jimmie" Hopkins on October 18, 1947. She preceded him in death on February 2, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Inez Coleman and Faye McDaniel; and four brothers: Bert McDaniel, Jr., Floyd McDaniel, Earl McDaniel and Mutt McDaniel.
     Bill loved to work and was always building something. He was very talented with his hands. He loved spending time in the woods and loved to aggravate his friends and family.
     Surviving relatives: One son, Marshal McDaniel of Arkansas; three daughters, Marquita Perrin of Wright City, Carol Womack of Valliant, Wanda Tholburn of Stockton, Calif.; six brothers, Charles McDaniel of Broken Bow, Archie McDaniel of Broken Bow, Jimmy McDaniel of Vandever, Ark., Jerry McDaniel of Millerton, Gary McDaniel of Broken Bow and Larry McDaniel of Georgia; two sisters, Pauline Griffin of Garvin and Willie Hudson of Wynnewood, Okla.; six grandchildren, Steven Kitchens, George Tholburn, Jr., Sarah Perrin, Clayton McDaniel, Crystal Perrin and Brett Perrin; two great granddaughters; a special sister-in-law, Billie McDaniel of Valliant and several nieces and nephews.
     Services under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home - Valliant.
