Services Held Monday For Hugo Boy, 8

    Services were Monday at 10 a.m. in the Lampton Funeral Home chapel for Johnnie Oakes, 8, who was fatally injured when hit by a car Friday night.
    Rev. Herman Highfill officiated and burial was in the Grant cemetery.
    The deceased was the son of Mrs. Agnes Oakes, 801 South I, and the late Tom Oakes. He was in the third grade at Horace Mann school.
    John Anthony Oakes was born in Hugo on Aug. 28, 1958.
    In addition to his mother he is survived by two brothers, Thomas and Carliss Oakes of the home; a half-brother, Curtis Abney, of the home; and another half-brother, Charles Oakes, Dallas. His maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Phillips, of Hugo also survive.
