Services Held Monday For Tom C. Oakes

    Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in the Lampton Funeral Home chapel for Tom C. Oakes, 74, of 1111 South I, Hugo.
    Henry Everidge officiated, and burial was in the Grant cemetery with military graveside rites.
    Mr. Oakes died Friday in the Veterans Hospital at McKinney, Tex.
    He was born June 2, 1889, at Grant, and had been a lifetime resident of Choctaw county.
    He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Shoals Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Agnes; four sons, Charles of Dallas and Thomas Wayne, John Anthony and Carliss, all of the home; a sister, Mrs. Sue Cornelison of Amarillo, Tex; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
