Hazel Provence

Funeral services for Hazel Provence of Rufe were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at Rufe Baptist Church in Rufe with Bro. Hershel Reed officiating. Interment was in Rufe Cemetery.

Mrs. Provence died October 30, 2005, in Valliant. She was 63. She was a homemaker and member of Rufe Baptist Church.

Hazel was born October 4, 1942 in Rufe, the daughter of Alexis Lota and Cora Mae (Meredith) Cogburn. She lived in the Rufe community all of her life. She married Jimmy Provence in Idabel on February 12, 1962. Hazel enjoyed her animals, crocheting, doing remodeling jobs, & fishing. She had the prettiest garden in Rufe. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Haskell Cogburn, & A.L. Cogburn, and one sister; Evelyn Christopher

SURVIVING RELATIVES: her husband; Jimmy Provence, one son; Hank Provence and his wife Angie of Rufe, two daughters: Julie Dorries and her husband Tommy of Valliant, Beth LaCaze of Durant, one brother; Jimmy Dale Cogburn of Nashville, Arkansas, six grandchildren; Kayla Dorries, Megan Schweitzer, Shawn Dorries, Cassandra Provence, Kristy Babcock, & Lisa Mae Provence along with a host of family and friends.

Family received friends Tuesday November 1, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
