Last Rites for James Simpson To Be Saturday
Last rites for James E. Simpson will be held at 2:30 p.m. , Saturday, January 28, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Segler, assisted by Edward Green of the Nazarene Church, officiating and interment in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mr. Simpson passed away at his home, 802 West Duke Street, at 7:20 a.m. today after a long period of illness. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on December 3, 1881, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar Simpson. He came to Hugo as an employee of the Frisco railroad in 1908 and retired as a switchman from the Hugo yards in 1942.
He was a member of the B of RT, the Frisco Club and the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Lizzie Simpson, home address and the following children: Mrs. Hersh Bright, Hugo; Mrs. B.M. Andres, Fort Smith, Arkansas; John Edgar Simpson, Oklahoma City; James Simpson, Oklahoma City; Warren Simpson, Dhahran Saudi Arabia; and Don Simpson, Laconia, N.H., along with four grandchildren and several brothers and sisters of West Virginia.
The News joins with his many friends in expressing condolence to the relatives of the deceased.
