Ida Smith

Mrs. Ida Smith, a resident of Hugo, died Friday in Choctaw Memorial Hospital.

She was 81.

A homemaker by occupation, she was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 10, 1906 in Texas, the daughter of Jim and Ellen (Whitson) Lester. She had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. (Bill) Smith, in 1963.

Survivors include a brother, R.B. Lester of Hugo; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Goodland Cemetery. Rev. Mutt Wallace will officiate.

The Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo was in charge of arrangements.
