ARMSTRONG, JOHN EDWARD

BORN: DECEMBER 4, 1946 DIED: FEBRUARY 8, 2000
John Edward Armstrong, 53, of Suquamish died Feb. 8, 2000, in Colima, Mexico, of cardiac arrest.
He was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Bremerton to John D. and Evelyn (George) Armstrong. He grew up in Suquamish, attending North Kitsap High School.
Mr. Armstrong had been a Seattle firefighter for 19 years, serving with Station Five, Engine Four and the fire boat Chief Seattle.
He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles, the Sons of Norway and the Nordic Vikings. He married Vicki Giles on June 6, 1998, in Silverdale.
Survivors include his wife; one son, John of Fort Towson, Okla.; one daughter, Rondi Webb of Fort Towson; three brothers, Robert Lamont of Kingston, Jim Bob of Indianola and Bennie of Suquamish; two sisters, Orlene Lamont of Suquamish and Joanne Collins of Edmonton Alberta, Canada; his grandparents, Bennie George of Port Gamble and Martha George of Suquamish; and two grandchildren, Shaun and Austen Webb, both of Fort Towson.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Suquamish Tribal Center.
Memorial donations may be made to Seattle Firefighters Fund, Station Five, Seattle, WA.
