COLLINS, JAMES F. “RED”

BORN: AUGUST 30, 1919 DIED: MARCH 13, 2002
Funeral services for James F. “Red” Collins, 82, Butler resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Butler with Rev. Roy Wilburn officiating.
Collins died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1919, in Ft. Towson, the son of Rube and Lillian Collins.He was married to Eve Paley on Sept. 29, 1945 in County Durham, England. Collins was a farmer all of his life.
He was a board member of the Butler Farmers Cooperative for many years, president of the Pie Flat Alumni and a lifetime member of Hobbs-Ogle-Powers American Legion Post No. 41 in Clinton.
Collins enjoyed playing basketball and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked to visit his friends daily at the co-op.
Interment will be in the Butler Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Kiesau-Marler Funeral Home of Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Eve Collins of the home; a sister, Margie Fox of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Vickie Masters of Whitney, Texas, Jodie Collins and his wife, Pam, of Oklahoma City, Sharon Lewis and her husband, Toby, of Nowata, Steven Collins and his wife, Cathy, of Thomas, Greg Collins and his wife, Debbie, of Butler; and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were a brother, Harold Collins; a sister-in-law, Ruth Collins; and a brother-in-law, Holly Fox.
