BORN: DECEMBER 21, 1916 DIED: DECEMBER 23, 2002
Bill Cooper, 86, of Swink, Okla., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at First Baptist Church of Fort Towson with James Blackwood officiating, assisted by Zelpha Boyd. Burial will follow in Fort Towson Cemetery under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Valliant.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Ada, Okla., the son of William Marshall Cooper and Bertha Brown Cooper, and had lived in Swink since 1969. He married Naomi Piearcy on June 28, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW and affiliated with the Calvary Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Edward Douglas Cooper; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Cooper; one son, Ricky Don Cooper of Roswell, N.M.; three daughters, Barbara Jo Trapp, Linda Ruth Sarver and Debra Annette Clift, all of Swink, Okla.; two brothers, Carl Cooper of Showlow, Ariz. and William Cooper Jr. of Cyril, Okla.; four sisters, Dora Hillbolt of Cyril, Okla., Vivian Hartsfield of Chickasha, Okla., Eva Lee Parsely of Altus, Okla. and Rachel Wilson of Cement, Okla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
