BORN: NOVEMBER 4, 1917 DIED: MARCH 15, 2002

Mrs. Oakley L. Ebbs, 84, of Forest Chapel died Friday, March 15, 2002 at Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital South.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18 in the Chicota Methodist Church. Burial will be made in Forest Chapel/Chicota Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home of Deport has charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Hugo, Okla., the daughter of Johnny and Liddie Norried.

In 1936, she married Archel Golightly and he preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Roger Ebbs in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, May Pate; an infant daughter; two brothers; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Surviving are her children, Junior Golightly and Carolyn of Forest Chapel, Larry Golightly and Nita of Bogata, Shirley Sessums and Lee of Paris, Pat Reaves of Paris, Earlene Cato and Kenneth Thompson of Paris, and Shiela Golightly of Paris; two brothers, Willie Norried of Hammitt, Calif., and Glen Norried of Conroe; six sisters, Ora Lee Covington and Eula Covington of Hugo, Queenie Golightly of Powderly, Johnnie Mae Hamilton of Battiest, Okla., Essie Cody of Swink, Okla., and Dessie Trapp of Campbell; 27 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren and 37 nieces and nephews.
