Joe Lloyd Edwards, 66, of Amarillo, died Monday, June 25, 2001.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery East with the Rev. Jerry Hewitt, pastor of First Assembly of God, officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Edwards was born in Fort Towson, Okla., and was raised in Quanah. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1942.

Mr. Edwards married Becky Wilson on May 17, 1997, in Carlsbad, N.M.

He was a veteran of the Navy and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He owned and operated auto detail shops in Amarillo for many years.

Mr. Edwards also was a truck driver. At the time of his death, he worked for J. Lee Milligan Construction.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jay Edwards of Amarillo; two daughters, Tammy Edwards of Amarillo and Kim Brown of Panama City, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Coats of Enid, Okla.; a stepson, Mike Burkhalter of Wellington; and nine grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Assembly of God; or BSA Hospice.
