FRAZIER, REV. RONNIE M.

The Rev. Ronnie M. "Ron" Frazier, 65, of Chetopa, Kansas, died around noon Friday, April 30, 2004.
He was born April 30, 1939, south of Idabel, Okla., to Elbert A. and Verna (Trusty) Frazier.
He attended Lone Elm Grade School and Central Grade School and graduated from Gray High School in Idabel in 1956. He joined the Navy in January 1957.
He married Charlotte Mitchell on April 18, 1959, in Carson City, Nev. She survives of the home.
After leaving the Navy in March 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in February 1961 and remained there until 1965.
After that he worked as a field engineer for the Link Group of General Precision Inc., a company that made flight simulators. In 1965 he received his exhorter's license with the Arizona District Council of the Assemblies of God. In 1967, he was licensed with the South Carolina District Council of Assemblies of God. He began pastoring in Fort Towson, Okla., taking over at the Assembly of God Church in 1967. In 1969, he was upgraded to ordination with the Oklahoma District Council of Assemblies of God. Then in 1970, the Rev. Frazier went to Colorado City, Texas, to pastor a church for two years. On Mother's Day 1972, he began his ministry at Chetopa Assembly of God Church, where he helped organize the ministerial alliance. He also helped begin a first responder unit in Chetopa, for which the facilities were constructed in 1973 and added on to in 1978.
Frazier resigned from the Assemblies of God Church and began pastoring the Community Bible Church in September 1994. He was only a few months shy of having 30 credentialed years with the Assemblies of God.
In 1994, he was ordained with the Community Bible Church.
He enjoyed several visits to the Holy Land and enjoyed having several exchange students stay with him and his wife. He enjoyed drinking coffee with the men of the town, fishing and being outdoors, but mostly spending time with his grandchildren.Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Jewel Mitchell; two sons, Randall Martin Frazier and his wife, Janice, of Neosho, Mo., and Kenneth Daniel Frazier of Joplin; a daughter, Kerri Marie Barsness and her husband, Jeff, of Joplin; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Hannah, Drew, Marti, Schuyler, Faith, Silas and Olivia Frazier, Trenton Ortner and Brendan and Jared Barsness; an adopted granddaughter, Kerri Stough; a brother, Aubrey Gene Frazier of Garvin, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Archie Mitchell and his wife, Darlene; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith and her husband, John.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Chetopa High School gymnasium. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Community Bible Church at Chetopa. The family suggests memorials to the David and Wadonna Trawick Mission Fund, and they may be left at or mailed to Bath Funeral Home, Box 346, Chetopa, KS 67336.
