JOHNSON, LESLIE KEELEY, JR. “L.K.”

BORN: NOVEMBER 1, 1933 DIED: AUGUST 11, 2002

Leslie Keeley “L.K” Johnson Jr., 68, of Frogville, Okla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Shoals Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Buchanan officiating. Interment followed in Everidge Cemetery in Frogville under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.

Family members will receive visitors at the deceased’s home in Frogville.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1933, in Frogville to Leslie Keely Johnson and Omie Francis Diffie Johnson. He attended school in Fort Towson where he graduated from high school. He was self employed as a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of the Choctaw Electric Board and the Choctaw County Excise Board and also of Shoals Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outside, in his fields, on his tractor and tending his garden. His family was very important to him and anyone who knew him became special to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Gullian; and brother-in-law, Warren Dawkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Mae Johnson of the home; two sons, Leslie B. Johnson of Frogville and Larry Keely Johnson and wife Beverly of Frogville; three daughters, Laura K. Ketchum and husband Stan of Hugo, Okla., Linda Lee Higginbotham and husband John of Hugo, Lisa Karen Easterwood of Frogville; sister, Ruby Lee Dawkins of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Ketchum Maddux and husband Mike, Tambi Johnson Hess and husband Galon, Kristal Johnson Robertson and husband Shawn, Mandy Johnson, Leslie Keeley Johnson III and fiancee Kristen Battles, Britni Higginbotham, Shea Easterwood, Tony Johnson, Kanyon Ketchum, and Lane Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Paitin Robertson, Tailor Hess, and Shawn Cole Robertson; a special friend, Hettie Harris, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
