BORN: NOVEMBER 17, 1921 DIED: AUGUST 23, 2003

Wayne Joplin, 81, of Fort Towson, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Paris.

Memorial services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, in First Christian Church under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Bentonville, Mo., to Emery Evert and Zelma Pfiester Joplin.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Joplin of Fort Towson; two sons, Randy Joplin of California and Roger Joplin of Lake Heights, Calif.; two daughters, Karla Faulk of Granada Hills, Calif. and Karen Bennett of Strawberry Plain, Tenn.; one stepson, Joseph Derring of Paso Robles, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
