Herman Matthews, 84, of Fort Towson died at McCurtain Hospital, Idabel, Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001.

Miller and Miller Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Fort Towson Cemetery.

He was born July 19, 1916, in Stigler to Arthur Matthews and Eliza Mae Allen Matthews. He was a retired dozer operator.

Surviving are three nephews including Henry Smith of Fort Towson and his wife, Della, two nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
