Graveside services for J.D. Miller of Hugo will be held Thursday, June 27, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. at Shoat Springs Cemetery. Rev. Michael Ellis will officiate the services, which are under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Miller was born April 6, 1930 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, the son of Riley and Georgia Ann “Steven” Miller. He had worked in the oil fields and repairing boots. He had returned to this area in 1972. He passed away on June 24, 1996 at the age of 66.

Surviving relatives include nine sons: J.D. Miller, Jr. of Annona, Texas, Eddie Mills of Paris, Texas, William Churchwell, Jackie Mills and Jimmy Churchwell, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daniel Churchwell, Scottie Green and Charles Mingo Green, all of Hugo, Oklahoma, Donnie Miller of Texas; eight daughters: Sonia Miller Weathers of Clarksville, Texas, Billie J. Williams and Christine H. Melton, both of Hugo, Oklahoma, Brenda Miller Barton, Patrisha Miller Johnson, Nellie Miller Blagg, Melissa Miller Lewis and Lela Ann Miller Norris, all of Texas; 51 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
