DIED: JANUARY 14, 1997

Services for James E. Roberts, 66, of Wright City, Okla., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Renshaw, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery under direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Roberts died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Okla.

He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Garvin, Okla. He married Sylvia Louise Burkett on Aug. 3, 1953, and she died Feb. 6, 1993. He married Irene Cantrell in February 1996 in Clarksville. He moved to Wright City from Morton in 1995.

He was a cemetery sexton for Morton Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Wesley Roberts of Jenks, Okla., and Arzie Elliott of Wright City; six daughters, Janet Crawford of Hereford, Donna Bumgarner of Terrell, Jamie Barker of Morton, Evelyn Sweng of Woodville and Gwendlyn Christie and Mary Slabaugh, both of Wright City; a sister, Ann Delozier of Battiest, Okla.; six brothers, Dillard of Fresno, Calif., Delbert, Wilbert and Clarence, all of Wright City, Hubert of Garvin, Okla., and Lloyd of Golden, Okla.; four grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
