DIED: JANUARY 26, 2001

James Howard Rose, 66, of Swink, Okla., passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Hugo.

Funeral services are Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo with Rev. Troy Ruffin officiating with the assistance of Rev. Zelpha Boyd. Interment is in the Fort Towson Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Howard was born March 30, 1934, to James Edward Rose and Mattie (Hutchings) Rose in Fort Towson. He married Ella (Hartford) Rose on Oct. 3, 1980, in Fort Towson.

He was an employee of the Weyerhaeuser Wright City Mill as a 1952 mobile equipment operator for the last 29 years, where he was a union member. He was also a member of the NRA. He had lived in the Fort Towson area all of his life.

James Howard was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Retha (Byrd) Rose; and one son-in-law, Gerald Keeling, Jr.

James Howard is survived by his wife, Ella, of the home; one son, Rickey Rose of Swink; two step-sons, Phillip Harris of Swink and Larry Rothleunter of Millerton; one daughter, Alicia Rose of Quinlan, Tex.; one step-daughter, Sheena Keeling of Fort Towson; three brothers, Charles Ed Rose of New Castle, Roy Dean Rose of Powderly, and Billy Don Rose of Sawyer; four sisters, Trudy Hanson of Powderly, Dorothy Lynn of Beaumont, Vivian Parish of Wichita Falls, and Bessie Crutchfield of Washington state; and 11 grandchildren.

All arrangements are through Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo.
