Sam Rowan, 81, of Wright City, Okla., died Sunday, June 2, 2002 in Parkview Care Center in Valliant, Okla.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5 in Watermill Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Thornburgh officiating. Burial will follow in Valliant Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Rowan; two sons, Wayne Rowan of Wright City and Doug Rowan of Valliant, Okla.; three daughters, Shirley Blackard of Valliant, Okla., Linda Eppler of Fort Towson, Okla., and Karla Forbes of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Tom Rowan of Okemah, Okla., and Emmit Rowan of Wright City, Okla.; three sisters, Bertha Neal of Valliant, Okla., and Francis Thompson and Hazel Melton both of Kalamath Falls, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
