SMITH, CLYDE C.

BORN: NOVEMBER 7, 1929
DIED: JUNE 21, 2000

Graveside rites for Clyde C. Smith, 70, will be at 3 p.m. today at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Wava Burris officiating.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 7, 1929, at Claypool, to George C. and Nellie V. Edwards Smith. He died June 21, 2000, in the local hospital.

A lifetime resident of this area, he served with the Army in the Korean War and was a former Ardmore policeman. For years he worked in highway construction building bridges on Interstate 35. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He and Shirley Ann Travis were married in 1949, at Waurika.

He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1995; a daughter, Vickie Ann Hoffman; two sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Pruitt, Davis, and Becky J. Johnson, Lebanon; two sons, Michael, Fort Towson, and David, Ardmore; three brothers, Billy, Jerry and Kenneth, all of Ardmore; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
