STINNETT, JAMES ALLEN

DIED: SEPTEMBER 17, 2000

James Allen Stinnett, 83, of San Angelo died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a local hospital.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Frank Berthold, minister of Chadbourne North Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Mr. Stinnett was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Wayne, Okla. He married Mildred Emma Lee Watkins on April 15, 1939, in Fort Towson, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Stinnett was a retired general contractor and after retiring he worked at Wal-Mart in Paris, Texas, and then at the Wal-Mart in San Angelo in the garden center. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Chadbourne North Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mildred Stinnett of San Angelo; two sons, Ronnie Stinnett and wife, Jean, of El Paso and Terry Stinnett of San Angelo; a daughter, Dianne Dobson of Denton; six grandchildren, Terry Stinnett Jr, and Jacquelin Stinnett, both of San Angelo, Zachery Dobson of Gulf Port, Miss., Katherine Dobson of Denton, Jason Stinnett and Jess Stinnett, both of El Paso; and a sister, Mary Cruise of Mount Angel, Ore.
