WALTERS, EMMA LLOYD (WALKER)

BORN: FEBRUARY 14, 1907
DIED: NOVEMBER 9, 1997

Emma Lloyd Walker Walters, 90, of Paris died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lorenzo Johns officiating. They family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Private family committal is scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Paris to F.N. and Martha Bell Walker. She married Ray Walters July 1, 1930, in Hugo, Okla.

She attended Paris public schools and was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school secretary for many years. She had been active in the Women's Missionary Union and other church groups. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, president of Graham School PTA, and served as a room mother for eight years. She worked with her husband in his business as secretary and bookkeeper until he retired in 1972.

A devoted and loving wife and mother, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray and Imy Walters of Paris; a grandson and his wife, Kyle Ray and Kimberly Walters of Richardson; a granddaughter and her husband, Steve and Lynn Walters Fletcher of Frisco; three great-grandsons, Collin Ray and Spencer Douglas Walters of Richardson and Briscoe Paul Fletcher of Frisco; a brother, Frank N. Walker of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Phara Ledbetter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 30, 1997, and by a sister, Louise Desiderio.

Honorary pallbearers are Luther Bridges, Melvon Dusen-berry, Eldon Miller, Harry Miller, Wendell Tallant and Wayne Tomblin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ray & Emma Walter Scholarship Fund at Paris Junior College for a student from Immanuel Baptist Church.
