DIED: MARCH 27, 2003
Isom T. Worthy, 81, of Hugo, Okla., died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in Paris.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Witt and the Rev. Bill Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Mount Olive Funeral Home in Hugo.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in the funeral home chapel.
He was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Powderly, the son of Lemuel and Minnie Pierce Worthy. He had lived in this area most of his life and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a cattle rancher and car salesman, worked for Hugo Feed & Seed and Red River Co-Op. He was a trader by nature and was a “professional garage salesman” by hobby.
He married Madie Searles on Feb. 8, 1942, in Hugo. He was a member of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Madie Worthy of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Worthy of Hugo and Tim and Elizabeth Worthy of Hugo; one brother, Delbert Worthy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
