Services for John “Willie” Wright will be held Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.

Willie Wright, a Ft. Towson resident, died Friday, September 26, 2003 in Tulsa.

He was 79.

Willie was born on July 12, 1924 in Porum, Okla. to Lewis P. and Ethel (Mendenhall) Wright. He lived in the Ft. Towson area for 65 years where he was self-employed as a farmer and rancher. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pearl Hendley Wright; two brothers, Charlie and Lee Wright; one sister, Mina Wright; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his longtime companion Jean Bearden; one step-son, Brad Bearden; three daughters, DeWayne Priddy, Joan Guthrie and Brenda Taylor; one step-daughter, Lisa Snead; three sisters, Lois Webb, Ella Vickers and June Songer; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Monday services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bob Thornburgh officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ft. Towson Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
