Mrs. George W. Crowder
Death of Mrs. George W. Crowder
The Boswell News – March 31, 1932
Transcribed by Ron Henson for OKCHOCTA
Mrs. Geo. W. Crowder died at the family home South of Boswell Tuesday, following a lingering illness of paralysis.
Funeral services were held at the family home Wednesday, at 3 o’clock, conducted by Rev. W.W. Morah, and the body was laid to rest in the family graveyard one mile east of the home.
Mrs. Crowder was born in Mississippi in 1869. Her maiden name was Wallace. She was married to George W. Crowder in 1889. There were born to this union six children, Joe and Willie Crowder, Mrs. Parlee Welch, Mrs. Belzora Welch, Mrs. Myrl Yandell and Mrs. Beaulah Elmore, who with her husband survive her and were present at her death and funeral. Deceased also leaves one brother, Jess Wallace and a half-sister, Mrs. Hunt.
Mrs. Crowder professed faith in Christ in 1910 and united with the Baptist Church in Boswell and lived a consistent Christian thereafter. She was a devoted wife and mother, laboring for her household in joy and gladness ever looking to their comfort rather than hers.
Truly a sainted companion and mother has gone to her rest, to await the resurrection.
