Mayor Jones of Hugo Died Monday

    R.L. Jones, mayor of Hugo for eight terms, died at the Sanitarium at Paris Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock, following an operation. He had been in bad health for several months.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Presbyterian church followed by interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

    Dr. Jones was widely known. He came to Hugo in 1902 as a practicing physician. During his terms of office most of the improvements of the town were made.

    He is survived by his widow and four children.
