Mose Methany Killed by Train in Missouri

Mose Methany was brought to Boswell Monday on the noon train and funeral services was held at the Baptist church at 4 p.m. by Rev. W.W. Moran, assisted by Rev. J.M. James pastor of the Baptist Church, and then laid to rest in Boswell cemetery.
Mr. Methany was born in LaFafette, Indiana, July 6, 1857, and was killed by a train in Lees Summit, Mo., near his son, Harrison’s home, whom he was living with, on October 1, 1932. Age 75 years and three months. He was married to Miss Annie Williams February 22, 1885, at Portland, Ind., and to this union was born five boys and three girls, one boy and one girl dying in infancy, the other six still living and all present except O.D. Methany who could not be reached with a message of his father’s death.
Mrs. Methany, his companion, passed on to her reward in August, 1925. Mr. Methany professed religion some 20 years ago and united with the Protestant Methodist church at LeFlore school house, and always hereafter attended church regularly. Mr Methany lived in and around Boswell since 1910.
His surviving children are Harrison, Lees Summit, Mo., George, Longton, Kans.; Arther and Mrs. Katie Miller, Amarillo, Tex.; Ode, a traveling salesman and Mrs. Cora Burns, Boswell, Okla.
Sam Lane and family, of Amarillo, Texas, were also here for the funeral.
B.D. Maddux acted as undertaker and Messrs. L.R. Chambers, W.B. Irby, Garland Marshall, Raymond Wilson, Shelby Robertson and H.R. Adair were pall bearers.
