Betty Jean Crockett

Betty Jean Crockett, 75, of Hugo, departed this life on November 29, 2004, after a two and a half year battle with colon cancer that had spread to her liver. She received over 100 chemotherapy treatments during that time. She died at Lane Frost Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hugo.
Mrs. Crockett was a retired secretary for Hugo Railcar and a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ of Hugo.
She was born October 8, 1929 in Purcell, Okla., the daughter of Ira and Florence (Lee) Hawkins and had lived in the Hugo area since 1975. She married Foy Crockett on June 6, 1948 in Brownwood, Texas. Betty loved reading all types of books, especially the Bible. She also loved to sew and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives: Her husband, Foy Crockett; one daughter, Barbara Yoder and her husband, Paul Yoder of Ft. Towson, Okla.; two sisters, Laverne Dixson of San Antonio, Texas and Margaret Browning of Snyder, Texas, along with many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Betty Jean Crockett of Hugo were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004, at Miller & Miller Funeral Chapel with Virgil Romine and Tracy Mussett officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla.
