Graveside services for William "Tom" Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Smyrna Cemetery in Harleton, Texas, with Minister Brian Govaenour officiating.
Mr. Johnson died December 4, 2004, in Dallas, Texas. He was 59.
Mr. Johnson was born on February 26, 1945, in Gilmer, Texas. He was a dozer operator for TXU for 21 years, and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Plenie Johnson.
Surviving relatives: Wife, Jansen Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; mother, Edna Mae Basford of Garvin, Okla.; sons, William T. Johnson, Jr., of Ohio and Jason Johnson of Pittsburg, Texas; daughters, Stacey Shirley of Sawyer, Okla. and Bonnie Springfield of Tyler, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Darwin Johnson of Dalby Springs, Texas; sisters, Linda Williams of Pittsburg, Texas, Stella Bonds of Canton, Texas, Lisa Johnston of Sawyer, Okla.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2004, at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home, 2805 S. Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
