Jacob J. Morris

    Funeral services for Jacob J. Morris of Tulsa, formerly of Choctaw County, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo with Rev. Vernon Babcock officiating. Interment will follow in Goodland Cemetery.
Mr. Morris died December 7, 2004, in Tulsa. He was 67. He was a hospital custodian and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
    He was born November 13, 1937 in Stigler, Okla., the son of Nelson J. Morris, Sr. and Emaline (Wall) Morris. He lost his parents at an early age and was raised at Goodland Orphanage. Three brothers also preceded him in death: Nelson J. Morris, Jr., John Morris and Josh Lee Morris. Jacob was a full blood Choctaw Indian. He liked to fish, loved sports and was a big OU football fan.
    Surviving relatives: One sister, Elsie Wesley of Sobol; a half brother, Joseph Morris of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2004, at the funeral home.
