Friday Funeral For Dr. J.L.Clark Held Thursday
Aged Physician Active in Profession Until Recent Months

    The funeral for Dr. J.L. Clark, 79 year old Hugo physician, was conducted here Thursday afternoon at 3 0'clock at The Church Of Christ by A. LeRoy Elkins, minister. Burial was in the Springs Chapel cemetery.
    Dr. Clark died Wednesday night about 10:30 0'clock after an illness of several weeks. A resident of Hugo for many years, Doctor Clark was known to large numbers of Hugo and Choctaw county residents. Despite his age, he had continued the practice of medicine until his health became poor several months ago.
    He was a native of Georgia. Doctor Clark was a member of the Church of Christ, in which organization he had been active for many years. He also was prominent in Republican party activities in Choctaw county, having served as county chairman.
    Surviving are Doctor Clarks widow, Mrs. Sara B. Clark, and the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Denna Bushart, Ft. Towson; Mrs. Sallie Pratt, Willow, Okla; Mrs. Fannie Gooch, Ardmore, Ok; Mrs. Linnie Spring, Coolidge, Arizona; Will Clark and Jimmy Clark, Hugo; and a stepson, Frank Beaty of Longview, Texas.
    Pall bearers were R.M. Price, A.C. Cooley, Wilfred Cooley, A .D. Fly, Kermit O'Neal and Lee Kimbrough.
    The Senner Funeral home directed arrangements.
