Gracie Hill

    Graveside services for Gracie Hill of Rattan were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, in Rattan Cemetery with Rev. Pete Green officiating.
    Mrs. Hill died Friday, December 17, 2004, at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo. She was 81.
    Gracie Hill was born March 28, 1923 in Belzonia, Okla., the daughter of Jay & Ona (Connally) Hill. She had lived in this area all of her life, working as a farmer's daughter and was a member of the Church of Christ. She graduated from Rattan High School. She spent most of her life serving as a caregiver for her parents and other family members. She was the last one to run the Belzonia Store and served as Postmistress for the Belzonia Post Office.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Irene Hedge; one brother, Bill Hill; and two nephews.
    Surviving relatives: Several nephews.
