Dora Margaret Davenport-Singleton

    Funeral services for Dora Margaret Davenport-Singleton of Soper were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2004, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Davenport officiating. Interment was in Soper Cemetery.
    Mrs. Davenport-Singleton died Monday, December 13, 2004, in Dallas, Texas. She was 91.
    Dora was born on December 28, 1912 in Norman, Ark., to John and Harnet (Shields) Kendrix. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. Dora loved working in her flowers and yard. She also loved to crochet and embroidery. Dora had a loving family and was always surrounded with love. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hub Davenport; son-in-law, Bill Grace; grandsons, Larry Wiginton and David Wiginton; five brothers and three sisters; and the late Morris Singleton.
    Dora is survived by five sons, Buck and Jane Davenport of Soper, Wayne and Linda Davenport of Cypress, Calif., Jerry and Dee Davenport of Rowlett, Texas, Larry and Jan Davenport of Lawton, and Mike and Teressa Davenport of Mannford; six daughters, Bobbie Grace of Soper, Ruby and Claude Wiginton of Littlefield, Texas, Tommie and Tom Jones of Soper, Georgia and John Stubbs of Boswell, Linda and Jim Garrison of Rowlett, Texas, and Brenda and Charles Splawn of Rowlett, Texas; one brother, Sonny Kendrix of Stockton, Calif.; thirty-one grandchildren, Bobby Dale, Angela Jane, Bucky Don, Johnny, David, Cheryl, Dawn, Michelle, Kristy, Priscilla, Larry Jr., Carolyn, Nicole, Brian, Brady, Brandon, Tyler, Dewayne, Debbie, Patricia, Tony, Jeff, Susan, Jimmy, Donna, John Jr., Rhonda, Jimmie II, Melissa, Jerrod and Chad; forty-one great grandchildren and sixteen great, great grandchildren.
    The family received friends Thursday, December 16, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
