Raymond Stewart

    Raymond Stewart, a resident of Hugo, died Saturday in the Golden Age Home in Hugo.
    Stewart was a retired teacher and rancher. He was of the Baptist faith.
    He was born in Denison, Texas, the son of Frank and Nancy (Steen) Stewart. He had lived in this community all of his life.
    Stewart headed the Choctaw County Fair Board for a number of years, served as principal of Robert E. Lee Elementary School for several years and also taught for 42 years. He retired from Hugo City Schools in 1966.
    Stewart married Corinne H. Hall on June 21, 1933 in Madill. She survives him.
    Other survivors include a brother, A.L. Stewart of Los Lunas, N.M.; a sister, Edna Kamm of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; one niece and two nephews.
    Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Darrough Pavilion located at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rev. John Chand will officiate.
    The Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo is in charge of arrangements.
