Mutt Tyson

Mutt Tyson, a resident of the Buckhorn Community, died Friday in Antlers.
He was 67.
Tyson was a retired rancher and a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Boswell. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Tyson had lived in the Buckhorn Community most of his life. He was born May 27, 1922 in Ironstob, Okla.
He married Ruby Mae (McKee) on Nov. 19, 1940. She survives him.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry Tyson of Soper, Lynn Tyson of Atoka and Dewayne Tyson of Soper; a daughter, Dorothy Southard of Valliant; seven granddaughters, Tammy Gravitt, Stacey Tyson, Shely Tyson, Tonya Tyson, Jodie Southard, Jessica Southard and Jennifer Southard; and one grandson-in-law, Stacey Gravitt.
Services were held today at 2 p.m. in the Boswell Church. Rev. Johnny Cheek and Rev. Leland Burkett officiated. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery in Boswell.
The Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo was in charge of arrangements.
