Mary Wilkins

Services for Mrs. J.G. (Mary) Wilkins were held today at 3 p.m. in Lampton-Mills Chapel, Hugo.
Mrs. Wilkins died at the age of 92, Thursday in Choctaw Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wilkins was born March 12, 1886 in Paris, Texas and has been a longtime Hugo resident. She was a retired telephone operator and was one of the first phone operators in Hugo in 1905, before statehood. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth King of Conifer, Colorado, Mrs. Kathryn Walters, of Paris, Texas and Mrs. Ida Mae Taylor of New Orleans, La.
She is also survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lampton-Mills Funeral Home, Hugo. Reverend Tim Boyd and Reverend Keith Barbee officiated and interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
