    Services for Bertha Lou Taber of Hugo were at 1 p.m. Dec. 3, 2002 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hugo. The Rev. Oscar Wilkie officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Quinton Cemetery in Quinton.
    The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 2, 2002, at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.
    Bertha Lou Taber died Nov. 28, 2002 in Paris, Texas. She was 71.
    Bertha Lou Taber was born May 9, 1931 in Oklahoma City to Richard and Lila Anderson. Bertha married Vernon Foster Taber Jan. 17, 1947 in Mena, Ark.
    Bertha was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Boyce Anderson.
    She is survived by her husband, Vernon Taber of Hugo; Two sons, Edmond Foster Taber of Hugo and Mike Short of Modesto, Calif.; four daughters, Carol Bostleman of Hugo, Ruth Ann Barrera of Tollhouse, Calif., Mary Mayo of Dallas and Connie Filkins of Paris, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    The Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo is handling the funeral arrangements.
