Funeral Mass for Mary Ann & Gerald J. Mayer, Jr. of Spencerville was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Joseph Chirayath, priest. Rosary service was at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 21, 2005. Burial will be at a later date in the Spencerville Cemetery.

Mary Ann (Blattner) Mayer was born on December 24, 1944.Gerald J. Mayer, Jr. (Jerry) was born on July 9, 1943.They died October 14, 2005 near Springerville, Ariz., doing what they loved best, flying their helicopter. Mary and Jerry had known each other since grade school and were married on July 18, 1964. They had three children, twins Diann & Dorene born in 1965 and Gerald J. Mayer III born in 1980.Mary & Jerry were originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They lived in Arizona for 10 years and then settled down in Spencerville, Oklahoma in July of 1979.They were successful entrepreneurs and enjoyed many hobbies, flying and golfing were their favorites.

They are survived by their children; Diann Mayer Baze, her husband Robby & grandchildren, Kelli and Will, Dorene Mayer Owen, her husband Mike and grandchildren Lindsay and Rachel, and son Gerald Mayer III (Little Jerry).Mary Ann is survived by her brothers and sisters Gary Blattner, Steve Blattner & Henry Blattner, Rosemary Lindner, Suzanne Zehnpfenniy.Jerry is survived by his sisters Sandra Heitkemper, Lori Gorsche, Jean Mayer & Mary Ison.Also close family friends Todd Caroll & Randall Hedrick and many other family and friends.
