Clifford Rodgers

Funeral services for Clifford E. Rodgers of Antlers were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Antlers Church of Christ with Bro. Brent Franks officiating. Interment was in Antlers City Cemetery.
Mr. Rodgers died October 21, 2005, in Antlers. He was 87. He was an aircraft worker and a member of the Antlers Church of Christ.
Clifford was born June 2, 1918 in Gore, Okla., the son of Arthur and Ethel (Skinner) Rodgers. He went to work for Boeing Aircraft in April of 1948. He helped build the first B 52 Boeing ever built in Wichita, Kansas. He went to New Orleans and helped with the Space Program and helped launch the rocket that went to the moon. He signed a plaque that was placed on the moon with the American Flag by Neil Armstrong. He transferred to Washington State were he helped assemble the first 747 jet airplane made by Boeing Aircraft. He retired after 23 years due to health reasons. He and his wife Nita then moved to Antlers, Okla. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, his parents and a brother.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: one son, John Rodgers and his wife Joleen of Wichita, Kansas, two daughters; Norma Whiteside and her husband Bert of Antlers, and Delores Willick and her husband Dave of Picayune, Miss., two brothers; John Rodgers of Gore, Okla., and Bill Rodgers of Sallisaw, Okla., three sisters; Gertie Rodgers of Gore, Okla., Ellen Muir of New Jersey, and Lucy Sapphore of Penn., 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
