Hugo Alderman Loses Life
Hugo, Ok. Nov. 27 [sic] – Alderman Frank Marks of Hugo fell from a train to the bottom of Caddo Creek, near Bokchito this morning and was instantly killed. He was a brakeman and was enroute to Hugo on a freight train in charge of Conductor Caldwell, when the accident occurred. The engine had stalled with the heavy train at steep grade. The caboose stopping on the bridge over Caddo Creek. Marks stepped from the caboose, intending to ascertain the cause of the train stopping, when he fell to his death. His neck was broken and he was dead when members of the crew reached him. He was picked up and brought to his home here in the Third Ward. He was the only Republican member of the Hugo City Council and leaves a wife.
The body will be taken to Blackwell, Ok., his old home, for burial. The Masons and the Order of Railway Trainmen will send escort with the body.
