Steeple infant
Fort Towson Enterprise – June 23, 1911 – transcribed by Ron Henson
Child Kills Child
The little 4 year old son of John Steeple, of the Messer neighborhood, accidentally discharged a Winchester rifle Monday afternoon, and as usual, the bullet found a vital spot in a small child. The mother and father were out of the house at the time and do not know how the accident happened, except that the little fellow could tell them that he was playing with the gun when it was discharged. The bullet entered the forehead of a two weeks old infant, and when the parents came in after hearing the report the dead child was found lying on the floor. – Hugo Herald.
