Effie Shoulders
Fort Towson Enterprise – November 12, 1915 – transcribed by Ron Henson
Died – Shoulders
On Sunday morning at 8:20 o’clock the soul of Miss Effie Shoulders took its flight to the realms of the immortals. Miss Shoulders was fifteen years old last April and died Nov. 7, 2915 [sic], with typhoid fever and other complications. She was buried Sunday afternoon at the local cemetery in Fort Towson, the funeral being preached at the cemetery by Rev. C.C. Morris, pastor of the Baptist church.
Effie Shoulders was a beautiful child, with a lovable disposition, and was highly spoken of and loved by all who knew her. She leaves a mother, two brothers and a half sister to mourn her death, besides a number of friends. May God’s richest blessing rest upon them in this hour of sorrow and grief.
“Man born of woman is of a few days and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower and is cut down.” Be ready.
