Pauline Ruth (Rogers) Hunter

Funeral services for Pauline Ruth (Rogers) Hunter of Hugo were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home chapel in Hugo with Reverend Mutt Wallace officiating, assisted by Reverend Mike Armes. Interment was in Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo.
Mrs. Hunter died Wednesday, November 17, 2004, in Hugo. She was 92.
Pauline Ruth Hunter was born on January 8, 1912 in Hugo, Okla., to John J. and Onie (Ward) Rogers. She married Charles Edward "Buck" Hunter on July 30, 1930 in Hugo, Okla. She had lived in this area all of her life and was a wife, mama and granny. She was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church, a member of the Rebecca's, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary No. 60 and a member of the Hugo American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked in the food service for many years and retired from Choctaw Memorial Hospital and the Golden Age Home. Pauline loved to cook and do things for her family, multitude of friends and all the people she met.
Pauline is survived by six sons, Billy G. Hunter of Stringtown, Okla., Howard Hunter of Dallas, Texas, Doyle Hunter, David Hunter, Jimmie Hunter and Jerry Hunter all of Hugo, Okla.; two daughters, Patsy Ruth Thompson and Judy Kay Campbell both of Hugo, Okla.; one sister, Effie "Sister" Rogers of Hugo, Okla.; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward "Buck" Hunter, Sr., two sons, John Douglas Hunter and Charles Edward Hunter, Jr., her father John James Rogers; her mother Onie (Ward) Rogers; one brother, Johnnie Rogers; two half-brothers, Preston McIntyre and Burl McIntyre.
The family received friends Friday, November 19, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, Okla.
